The Amphibious Joint Lifeguard UAV is nothing but a surveillance drone and also as a floatation device that saves drowning lives. Being a helpful assistance for beach lifeguards, they help maintain safety on the coastlines. They can dive straight into the sea, and bringing the victim back to shore, which gives them the name ‘amphibious’.
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is the beach lifeguards’ assistants, patrolling the coastlines and assisting in rescuing swimmers in distress. It can be charged while still on the lookout for potential victims. Once a drowning victim is detected, the drone will spring directly into action, diving into the waters to provide a floatation device beneath the victim. The Amphibious Joint Lifeguard UAV has a platform used to lay on which is easier for the drone to bring the victim back to shore.
The UAV is also powered by solar panels, so lifeguards would not worry if the battery died out in the middle of saving lives. The drone is also equipped with powerful rotors to fight strong currents and tides, while carrying the victim.
The Amphibian Joint Lifeguard UAV is designed by a Kazakh graduate, Sarsenbek Harken, which also won the Red Dot Design Award 2016.
