Flying Production Unveils THOR Drone

What do you think is the main factor when considering buying a drone? Well, exactly. The flight time. The famous consumer drones, DJI Phantom 4 Pro has only a flight time of 30 minutes, while normal consumer drones has only a maximum of 7-8 minutes. To increase the flight time of a drone, Flying Productions, an Israeli drone company, launched a drone that has a continuous flight time of 75 minutes. This is far more than the average flight time of drones and ten times longer lasting.

The drone, THOR VTOL sUAS, isn’t just an ordinary commercial drone; it is dedicated for military use. It is a low altitude multi-rotor platform. It has a very simple yet tidy design, with its frame being able to be folded and fitted into a special backpack. The THOR operates with the VTOL capability, featuring an automatic takeoff and landing capability and autonomous flight missions. THOR can be used to survey environments and collect information in 360-degrees through the photoelectric sensor and infrared sensor located under the frame of the drone.

Other than that, it can also be used to transport cargo. With its maximum takeoff weight of 12.5 kg (27.6 lb), it can carry a payload up to 3 kg (6.6 lb). It is able to fly up to 12,000 ft (3,657.6 m), with maximum speed of 65 km/h (40.4 mph), which is slightly slower than the DHI Phantom 4 Pro which is 72 km/h (44.7 mph). The THOR can provide real-time high definition 360-degrees images and footage data link and has a unique control software. It can also support various flight modes, including camera guide, advanced convoy mode, programmed flight pattern and advanced real-time navigation mode. This allows operators to adapt easily to changing environments and tasks, and the drone to be deployed in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain.
