It seems like every few weeks, a new trend emerges and takes the entire world by storm, encompassing all of social media and physical interactions amongst people within its influential confines. These days, it is all about Pokemon Go; the new smartphone application slash game that has evoked feelings of nostalgia in people who used to be a fan of the original anime called Pokemon, and has, in a whirlwind, become all everyone is talking about.
We bet even you might have seen a few people, kids, teenagers, and adults alike, walking down the streets with their phones in their hands, searching for a Pokemon to catch or a gym to battle at. Needless to say, if brands do not take this opportunity to hop onto the bandwagon and use this fever to their own marketing advantage, then they are staring in the face of a missed economical and market advantage.
So TRNDLabs, a Dutch tech company, has crafted and have decided soon to present to Pokemon trainers a little gadget that might just help them to inch ahead of their competition and literally catch ‘em all! Introducing, the results of the amalgamation of a contemporary Pokemon craze and edgy drone technology: the Pokedrone!
Have you ever just found a rare Pokemon present nearby in a place you cannot access at the moment, like over on the other side of a lake? Or maybe you find one in the neighbour’s backyard and you don’t want to go knocking on their door just to ask if you could catch a Pokemon sitting in their lawn. Well, there is no need to worry. Because with the Pokedrone, you can simply plug in your phone into the controller that is provided with the drone set, connect it to the diminutive yet efficient drone that yields a camera and a GPS system on its body, and use this external camera as your window of perspective in the game.
By simply manning the remote control, that mounts your phone upon it for easy use and display, you can monitor and control the drone’s movements and be virtually present in places where you cannot be so physically. Even if you are not one who is all too familiar with the process of drone flying and handling, it might be of comfort to know that the device boasts automatic take off as well as landing features, making it that much more easier to utilize.
Is It Cheating?
Now, if anyone says that this is basically cheating, there are so many people who are already doing that, using vehicles and other accessories in order to skip the walking and searching part of the reality augmenting application. The Pokedrone has been constructed in order to aid users of the app in their ventures and help out with an ordeal they might be facing in terms of an inaccessible location of a Pokemon. And for those who choose to cheat, well what even is the use of playing the game?
So hold your Pokeballs and wait for this amazing piece of trendy tech to be released by the beginning of next year at a price that is yet to be decided. There is no doubt that this will be an exciting coalition of virtual reality and drone technology!
